Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques for home cooks on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced my most memorable time in my life. I couldn't seem to get enough out of the experience. After graduating of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. While in Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. It has had a profound impact on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing difficulties. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her love for cooking and career. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love of sharing her cooking skills with other people.
